SENIOR 💙 YEAR ~ Week 1 Recap

My girl’s first week as a Senior was jam-packed!
It started Sunday with an amazing Kick Off party; Monday she had a soccer game (and got the W); Tuesday the Senior girls got together to paint their cars; Wednesday was the Last First Day Breakfast (and her actual last first day); Thursday was her very last Meet the Raiders (seniors signed autographs and the littles loved it); Friday was her Last First JA Football game; and Saturday her soccer team served at We Will Go Ministries (after which she took a well deserved 2 hour nap).

I’m sure not every week will be this busy, but I hope each week is as fun for her as this one has been.

L A S T 💙 F I R S T 💙 D A Y at Jackson Academy ~ the place that’s been our second home since 2010. Seems like just yesterday that I was dropping her off for her first day of Pre-K 4 and, yet, here we are - she’s wheeling out of the driveway solo on the first day of her Senior year. I can say with conviction that every day at JA between K-4 and today has been an absolute blessing! (Also, I didn’t cry 🙌🏻)

And so it begins. . . . This weekend marked the beginning of the “Last First” season of our lives. 🥹😭

Friday night was the Last First JA soccer game for my girl @averykobs3 and she proudly took the field as a Captain. It also marked the last first run she’ll make up the left side, her last first corner, her last first crash of the goal, and her last first header, to name a few. (It was also my last time to serve in the concession stand😜.) I’m a mixed bag over here! Praying for an INJURY FREE Senior season that’s everything she wants it to be 🙏🏻 but playing the sport she loves with her best friends and getting 2 wins wasn’t a bad start!

Jackson Academy 2023 Soccer Retreat in the books!

The girls, coaches and parents had THE BEST time at Gulf State Park last week. The girls trained, scrimmaged, “paddle boarded” (some biked), swam, tanned, played games, and probably stayed up too late, but they had a blast doing it all. Everyone laughed until their sides hurt and made memories that will last a lifetime. It was the perfect way to kick off the soccer season and AK’s last year as a Lady Raider (😭). We are truly blessed to be part of such a wonderful group.

Those that have come before me know what it means when you pull out the pearls 😢 ~ Senior yearbook portraits (and a casual). If it didn’t feel real before, it sure did today. And just to pour salt in the wounds, I woke up singing songs of “he who shall not be named” and can’t stop 😩 Get out of my head man!!
