I’m sure upon catching wind of my decision to begin this blog, there were many people who thought “Wait, What?” or “Who does she think she is?” “Why did SHE start a blog?” Well, the answer is simple…WHY NOT?
I recently realized that I was spending countless hours reading other people’s blogs and learning what others thought about things, whether it was about places they’d been, clothes they were wearing, beauty products they were using, books they were recommending or how they were cleaning their homes. And, then it hit me – this is no different than what my friends and I discuss when we are together. So….why not share all my pearls of wisdom 😉 (and mistakes) with those of you willing to listen, and memorialize it for those of you who either didn’t catch it the first time, or who just enjoy reading these posts SO MUCH that you want to do so over and over again. 🙂
As a lawyer, I am very comfortable writing. While I may overthink my writing a lot of the time and am by no means what I would consider eloquent, I don’t totally suck at it either. So, I figured, if I can write about things that aren’t necessarily personal to me at work and enjoy it, how much more would I enjoy writing about things that I love? Even better if you all find it useful or entertaining!
As the holder of a degree in psychology, I love climbing into the minds of others and seeing what makes them tick. I love helping others find solutions to their problems – big or small – be it deciding what to wear, what color to paint a wall, how to organize a closet or how to approach a real life issue that just has you tied in a mental knot. I’m not suggesting my way is the ONLY way, I’m simply saying it’s the RIGHT way. Just kidding!! What I actually mean is, if my two cents can help someone else, then those pennies just doubled in value to me.
Like me, this blog will primarily have a tongue & cheek approach to life. However, we can go deep if that’s where you want to go. I plan to use this platform as a creative outlet for me and a source of information for you all. Topics for a lifestyle blog are endless and I will likely write about whatever I’m feeling at that particular moment. I welcome any suggestions and would love to hear from you about what you’d like to see next (or never again)!
Thank you so much for stopping by The Savvy Southerner, and I hope you decide to stick around and join me on this journey to who knows where!
XOXO – Bridget
